On Friday 28th April, the entire LIA team excitedly gathered at the foot of Dublin’s iconic Smithfield Tower to lend vocal (and moral!) support to 6 of our fearless colleagues as they took part in the Ronald McDonald House ‘Tower Drop Challenge’.

With hearts pounding, we watched Paul, Patrick, Dalete, Eva, Shane and Terrie conquer the 190ft abseil like absolute superheroes (and not at all like wrecking balls!). We couldn’t be prouder of them!

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our colleagues, members and network who generously donated to this fantastic cause, helping us smash our target and raise a total of €3,000.

We decided to get involved in this challenge as Ronald McDonald House is a local charity very close to our hearts, and we have been honoured to support them over the past few years with corporate donations and staff volunteering for their ‘Cooking4Families’ programme. This is the first time we have taken part in the abseiling event, and we were thrilled that 6 of our team wanted to rise to the challenge and help us build awareness for the charity’s work.

Every night 20 families stay at Ronald McDonald House while their seriously ill child is receiving treatment at CHI, Crumlin. The House provides a home away from home, including accommodation and meals, so that the families can focus on what matters most – helping their sick child cope and heal.

We look forward to continuing to support this amazing charity as they raise funds to build a new 52-bedroom house at the New Children’s Hospital. Click here to read more about Ronald McDonald House, and to make a donation.
