Karen Goodliffe CFP® was inaugurated as LIA President at the organisation's AGM in March 2026, following Mark Hedderman's 2-year tenure. Karen, an active member of LIA and founder and Managing Director of SurePlan Financial, brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector to the role. She holds the QFA FLIA, RPA and SIA designations as well as the MSc in Financial Services in addition to being a CFP professional.
Commenting on her inauguration, Karen said:
"As a long-time member of LIA, it was an honour to be invited to become President. I am excited to be involved with the organisation again after my time on the National Committee and my hope is to work with members across the country to re-introduce the regional networking opportunities which were at the heart of LIA for many years."

Karen began her career in the UK, working with Aegon and Zurich as a Broker Consultant, before relocating to Ireland and joining New Ireland Assurance in 2004. She later joined CWM Wealth Management as a financial adviser, before establishing SurePlan Financial to provide business owners and employees with tailored and personalised financial planning. A dedicated contributor to the LIA community, Karen served as Cork Regional Chair in 2013 and as National Committee Chair in 2016.
