Student Testimonials

As a Returner to the Financial Services industry I needed to update my qualifications and LIA in partnership with the Kilkenny-Carlow ETB have provided a practical roadmap to achieving that as well as a wonderful learning experience. The lectures are delivered via Zoom by knowledgeable and experienced lecturers who are genuinely interested in and available to us if there’s any help we need. I feel much more confident and knowledgeable returning to the financial services industry thanks to LIA and KCETB. A massive well done to all involved!

I was forced out of work due to health reasons and was subsequently fortunate to be accepted onto the QFA Life Assurance Module with LIA through Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (ETB). I then went on to complete the QFA Loans and QFA Regulation Modules, through Kilkenny and Carlow ETB. Throughout the course, there was great backup from the Recruitment Officers in the ETBs as well as support from the Education Team in LIA. These courses have allowed me to continue with my lifelong learning and upskill and this will undoubtedly present opportunities for me in the Financial Services Industry.

The APA/QFA courses provided by LIA were fantastic, they were easily accessible via Zoom with small classes and plenty of group interaction. Lecturers provided extensive notes and were very approachable and were always there to help us, even outside scheduled lecture times, giving us sample questions to practice. LIA provided the course manual to assist our learning. It gave me a real sense of accomplishment completing these during a pandemic and the funding provided assisted me while temporary unemployed was great. Within 4 months of completing APA (Loans) I was fortunate to find a job working in Permanent tsb. Having this qualification on my CV stood to me and gave me a real advantage.
