Delivery and Assessment
This part-time online course consists of a single module, delivered one evening per week over a 12-week period.
Assessment is conducted on a continuous basis through interactive online discussions, collaborative projects, and case studies on real-world sustainability strategies. You’ll be evaluated based on group projects, case studies, and reflective reports, all aimed at enhancing your practical understanding of the subject.

CPD
8 Hours Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is awarded on successful completion of this course.
Progression
Those that successfully complete this course will receive a module credit against the Client Management module on the Postgraduate Certificate in Financial Management and Sustainability.

This module provides an in-depth exploration of the intersection between sustainability and financial decision-making, equipping learners with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate and influence the evolving landscape of sustainable finance.
Throughout the module, you will evaluate the concept of sustainability and its relevance to the economy, business, and the financial sector, while understanding the role of stakeholder groups and frameworks like the UN Sustainable Development Goals. You will critique how sustainable governance, strategy, and risk management practices embed long-term value in organizations, and examine key regulatory frameworks and initiatives such as the EU Sustainable Finance Action Plan and international standards like TCFD and GRI.
The module also focuses on analysing sector-specific ESG reporting metrics and understanding the importance of these metrics in organizational decision-making. You will reflect on how sustainability influences management decisions related to investment, finance, and technology, and assess how responsible leadership and sustainable management practices are critical for the long-term success of businesses and society. By the end of the module, you will be equipped with the tools and insights to critically evaluate, interpret, and apply sustainable finance principles in various organisational contexts.
