Event Description

This event will focus on MyFutureFund and discuss the role of the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority (NAERSA) in administering the Fund. We will review the purpose of My Future Fund, the role it plays in Ireland’s retirement savings landscape, and the progress achieved to date. The presentation will also discuss the Automatic Retirement Savings System Act 2024 and bring you up to date on recent developments.

Dermot Griffin and Thomas O'Hara

Dermot Griffin - Chief Executive Officer 

Dermot began his career with KPMG. He went on to hold senior roles in the telecommunications sector, serving as Chief Financial Officer at eircell and later as Commercial Director at Vodafone Ireland.

In 2005, Dermot was appointed CEO of the National Lottery, where he led the organisation through significant developments. He later became CEO of CUSOP in 2019, supporting the advancement of electronic payment services for credit unions, and was appointed Non-Executive Director of the Irish Aviation Authority in 2023. In September 2025, he took on the role of CEO of NAERSA, bringing with him extensive experience across both private and public sectors.

Thomas O'Hara - Head of Compliance and Risk

Thomas holds the role of Head of Compliance and Risk at the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority (NAERSA). Prior to joining NAERSA, Thomas gained 17 years of experience across the financial services industry, primarily in investment management, insurance and reinsurance, and fund administration. He has held senior roles including Chief Risk Officer (PCF-14), Head of Compliance (PCF-12), and Head of Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing Compliance (PCF-52). Thomas is an Irish qualified barrister and holds qualifications from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants. Thomas is a graduate of the National University of Ireland, Galway, King’s Inns Dublin, the Law Society of Ireland, and University College Dublin.
