Marie Claire Scullion
Marie Claire is a Partner specialising in Employment law with over 18 years’ experience. She provides strategic and practical advice to clients on all aspects of the employment relationship. Marie Claire advises businesses on the day-to-day employment issues that arise. She also advises businesses on grievances, disciplinary matters, protected disclosures, redundancies, termination of employment and on the enforcement of post-termination restrictions and confidential information clauses. In addition to this, Marie Claire also advises on the employment aspects of corporate transactions, including TUPE, and guides employers through restructuring programme and also advises on the employment aspects of investigations into allegations relating to Fitness and Probity and consequent disciplinary matters. Marie Claire gives advice to employers on their data protection compliance in the work place and provides training and is a tutor in employment law in the Law Society of Ireland’s professional practice course and the published Irish contributor on OneTrust’s DataGuidance for Ireland – Employment.
Ciaran Walker
Ciaran is a Consultant in our Financial Services Regulation & Governance Group.
Ciaran has significant experience advising Irish and international firms on a wide range of FS regulatory issues, including assisting firms to deal with potential/actual CBI investigations under the Administrative Sanctions Procedure (ASP) regime and assisting firms and individuals with issues that arise under the CBI’s Fitness & Probity Regime. He also advises on CBI authorizations, corporate governance requirements, AML/CTF requirements, compliance with consumer protection requirements, ongoing compliance with the applicable regulatory regime, regulatory investigations, Fitness & Probity.
Ciaran has particular expertise in advising firms on the new Individual Accountability Framework. He has written a book on the topic (“New Accountability in Financial Services: Changing Individual Behaviour and Culture” (2022)) and regularly publishes articles in peer-reviewed journals on the topic. He also regularly guest lectures on individual accountability and governance issues on courses in UCD, the Law Society of Ireland, Kings Inns and the Institute of Banking. Prior to commencing with Eversheds Sutherland, Ciaran was Deputy Head of Enforcement in the Central Bank of Ireland.
