This year, we're delighted to welcome Eleanor Hendy as the event's host, leveraging her extensive experience in retirement planning to guide our discussions.

Eleanor Hendy

Eleanor Hendy, Pensions Manager with Dunnes Stores.

With over 30 years’ experience in the Pensions sector, Eleanor brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this event. Currently the Pensions Manager for Dunnes Stores, her career includes significant roles such as Technical Support Manager at New Ireland/Bank of Ireland Life and Operations Manager and Company Secretary at General Investment Trust DAC. Eleanor has herself spoken at many industry seminars and was a previous Board Member and President of LIA.

Speakers

George Nolan

George Nolan, Technical Development Manager of New Ireland's Life and Pensions Technical Team. 

George delivers specialised technical support and business solutions for New Ireland’s Customer Service teams, commercial division, and its three distribution channels. His contributions encompass leading pension webinars, seminars, and training programs nationwide, in addition to crafting technical newsletters and updates. With a rich background of over 25 years in the Life & Pensions sector, George is an active participant on the Insurance Ireland Pension Committee and the IAPF DC Committee. He also serves as a trustee for the Lifetime Group Retirement and Death Benefit Plan.

Kevin Fitzsimons

Kevin Fitzsimons, Pensions Development Manager at Irish Life.

Kevin is known for his dedication to expanding the pensions business throughout Ireland. Kevin collaborates closely with brokers and financial advisers offering them the support they need to uncover and develop new pension opportunities. Kevin's role involves providing day-to-day technical and sales support, where he shines by highlighting promising areas for new business. He is adept at helping brokers refine their messaging on pension funding and planning, ensuring that complex concepts are communicated effectively. 

Ian Devlin

Ian Devlin is a Partner and Head of Pensions in William Fry's Employment & Benefits team.

Ian advises national and multi-national companies, regulatory bodies and pension scheme trustees on all areas of pension law, including restructuring and winding-up, scheme mergers, overseas pension transfers, investment, dispute resolution, scheme documentation and pension products. Ian has extensive experience in advising trustees and employers on various forms of liability management exercise, ranging from enhanced transfer value exercise to bulk annuity buyouts.

Jane Barrett

Jane Barrett is an Associate on the pensions team in William Fry.  

Jane qualified as a Solicitor and as a “Qualified Pension Trustee” (Irish Institute of Pensions Managers) in 2016 and last year completed the Law Society of Ireland Certificate in Pensions Law and Applied Trusteeship.

Jane has experience advising trustees and employers on a wide range of issues arising in relation to occupational pension schemes and drafting scheme documentation.
