System Go Live

Restrictions on Your LIA for move to new IT system

As you know, LIA has been working for some time to bring a brand new online experience to our members in a project known internally as Operation Eclipse. The new system will provide you with a range of new online features and services through a new Membership and Learning Management System.

We are excited to let you know that we are almost ready to go live with this new system, with a targeted go-live date of 1st August, subject to a final testing phase in July.

Despite how it may seem, our business is hugely complex and thus requires an equally complex IT system to cope with exam enrolments and administration, module exemptions, credits, results, re-registrations, myriad designation and CPD scenarios, as well as the ‘usual’ business and finance functions. To help with data migration, and our transition from one system to the other, we need to temporarily disable some features of our website and Your LIA.

The following features will be unavailable on Your LIA from Monday 12th June, until the new Your LIA is up and running, circa 1st August:

  • Online CPD Log – hours attained through LIA seminars, LIA exams, or MyCPD modules will be added automatically to your log on 1st Activities completed between 12th June and 31st July will be recorded but not visible in Your LIA until August 1st. Hours you have completed via non-LIA activities can be logged by you after the new system is live, so please ensure you retain records of any such hours.
  • Hours earned on mycpd.ie during 12th June – 31st July will not be visible in Your LIA until 1st August. However they will be safely stored on MyCPD and will download automatically into Your LIA once the new system goes live. Note that we will more than likely need to disable all access to MyCPD for a few days during July, and we will give you advance notice of these dates closer to the time.
  • Our online designation application facility is also temporarily closing on Monday 12th June and will re-open on August 1st. If you have passed exams and are eligible for a designation, you will be able to apply online after August 1st. If you are eligible for a designation that you urgently require, please contact our CPD Department and they will facilitate you in the interim (insert contact info for CPD dept).
  • Forgotten passwords – if you lose or forget your password between 12th June-31st July, please contact us by phone and we will assist you.
  • Profile changes – you may continue to submit updates to your profile information, such as correspondence details, but some changes may not be visible in Your LIA until after 31st

In addition to the above restrictions, it is likely that we will need to stop all processing in our old system for a few days during July to allow for the final phase of data migration, as well as staff training. We will confirm the dates for this action closer to the time.

Please be assured that information such as previous exam results, May exam results, new course enrolments, as well as Study Resources for those registered for September exams will remain available on Your LIA throughout this transition.

We will continue to keep you informed of our progress over the coming weeks.
