The Companies Act 2014 (CA 14) commenced on 1st June 2015 at which time all earlier Companies Acts were repealed. Following the introduction of CA 14 the Board of Life Insurance Association Ireland Limited (LIA) undertook a review of the existing Memorandum and Articles of Association and recommends changes to bring it in line with the provisions of the CA 14.
The result of this was to complete a new LIA Constitution which is available to view here.
The Constitution was put forward for adoption by LIA members at our Annual General Meeting on 1 December 2016. We also note that it is a requirement of the CA 14 that the name of the Company be changed to include the designation ‘Company Limited by Guarantee’ or ‘CLG’ if abbreviated. This change came about automatically as of 1st December 2016.
